Two special limited edition beers will be available at the November Wirral Farmers’ Market.
BeWilder and BeLotment have been created by award-winning brewer Mike McGuigan, of Betwixt Beer.
The first beer "BeWilder" is dry-hopped in the cask with a handful of wild-grown Wirral hops, from a secret rural location.
His newest beer "BeLotment" is dry-hopped in cask with a handful of Wirral allotment hops from a community allotment in Wirral.
Mike said: “The hops are added to the cask & allowed to steep for a few days before we bottle it. The fresh, unprocessed, un-dried 'whole flower' or 'whole cone' hops are used and the base beer for both of these seasonal beers is Sunlight (4.3%, pale & hoppy golden ale) but the wild hops add a herby/mint & bitter tang, while the allotment ones give a more typical pronounced fruity/hoppy character.”
The beers will be available at Wirral Farmers’ Market on Saturday, November 10, which runs from 9am at the Village Hall, Grove Street, New Ferry.
And the beer will help the celebrations flow as Wirral Farmers’ Market is shortlisted for a national award.
The market is one of only three in the country to reach the finals of the prestigious BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards for the category of best farmers’ market in the country.
